Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan receives a ₹50 lakh ransom threat, traced to Raipur.
Shah Rukh Khan has faced threats from the Mumbai underworld before.
Shah Rukh Khan, the Bollywood superstar, received a threatening call demanding ₹50 lakh. The call was made to a police station in Mumbai's Bandra area.
The police traced the call to Raipur and registered a case. A team is now investigating the matter in Chhattisgarh.
The suspect, named Faizan, was located using his phone number.
This is not the first time Shah Rukh Khan has been targeted.
Last October, after the success of Pathaan and Jawan, he received a death threat. As a result, Mumbai Police increased his security. He now has a Y+ security detail with six armed guards, up from two.
Shah Rukh Khan has faced threats from the Mumbai underworld before.
The new threat comes after several warnings sent to Salman Khan. Salman has also been targeted by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
Earlier this week, Bhikha Ram, a 32-year-old from Rajasthan, was arrested in Karnataka.
He sent a death threat to Salman Khan while watching TV. Ram, a daily wage worker, hoped to get a ransom from the threat.
The threat was linked to pressure from the Bishnoi gang.
They had previously demanded that Salman Khan apologize for killing a blackbuck or pay a ₹5 crore ransom.
This comes after a recent shooting attempt outside Salman Khan's home in Bandra, Mumbai, further increasing his security.
